Haiku Poetry Contest - Wine and Wine Travels - Cinquain Cellars wine for the winners

To celebrate ViciVino.com's 1-year anniversary this month we have decided to hold a Haiku poetry contest.  Our theme is "Wine and Wine Region Travel".  A Haiku is a simple poem with set rules.  It consists of 3 lines, the first has 5 syllables, the second has 7 and the third has 5.  The stanza can all run together, no rhyming necessary.  We want you to just think about it, write a few down and submit them to info@vicivino.com.  You may submit as many Haiku's as you would like through 5/31.  There will be three winners.  Each of the three winners will receive a bottle of Cinquain Cellars, "Haiku" blend, from Paso Robles, which they have graciously donated to this contest.

The winners will also receive a ViciVino.com wine journal (1st, 2nd & 3rd) for you to fill in during your wine travels, a wine bottle holder (1st & 2nd) and a wine/beverage opener (1st).

The contest will end on May 31, 2009.  The winners will be announced in our June newsletter, on this blog, not to mention on Twitter and Facebook and anywhere else we can think of.

We have a guest judge!  Her name is Thea Dwelle.  Thea is quite the "Wine Gabber" of San Francisco.  We see and hear her all the time.  Thea has great insight into wine and living the life of a single woman in SF.  Take some time and read her blog LusciousLushes's, you will get a sense of her humor, love of wine and her great style of writing.

Don't be shy, let your friends know about this contest.  It's fun!  (I'll give you an inside secret, I wrote the Brunch Haiku this morning while I was in the shower!)  You'll be amazed as to where and when a poem will just pop into your head!
